Giving Children a Voice Through the Children’s Advocacy Center

We are proud to announce Julie Weddle, Associate Wealth Advisor at Acumen, joined the Board of Directors at the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC)! Julie has been a longtime supporter and volunteer at the center, but stepping into a leadership role has given her an even deeper appreciation for the organization’s mission.

Acumen Wealth Advisors is also proud to strengthen its partnership with the CAC through a three-year commitment to fund a counselor’s salary. This support helps sustain the counseling services that are critical to helping children move from trauma toward healing and hope.

The CAC provides vital services to children up to age 17 who have experienced abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Working together with law enforcement, child services, and medical professionals, the center ensures each child receives the care and advocacy they deserve. From medical evaluations to counseling and representation in legal proceedings, the CAC stands as a powerful voice for children who cannot always speak for themselves. The organization is also a leader in the fight against human trafficking and in lobbying for laws that strengthen protections for children.

Julie often describes the CAC as warm and inviting, with children’s artwork adorning the walls and staff who radiate compassion. “Despite abuse, the CAC allows children to be children,” she says. The need, however, remains great. One of the center’s most requested items is also the simplest, stuffed animals. These small comforts can bring peace to children facing trauma.

Julie encourages community members to take a tour of the CAC to witness its impact firsthand. From the caring staff to the inviting atmosphere, the center is transforming the trajectory of children’s lives, replacing fear with compassion and giving them back their voices.

We are proud of you, Julie, and know you will make an impact with children who need it most!
